PEAR TREE
by Laurie Beth

This is a pear ripening on my sister’s farm.
One can see the color just starting to come into it.
Farmers don’t pick fruits before they are ripe, yet business people do it all the time—with projects, and people.
What is hanging on the vine in your company or team, ripening? Are you going to pick it before its time, or leave it until the season is right?
Do you have that kind of discipline?

One Mission at a Time

Dear Friends,
As I was driving through La Jolla I saw a little boy holding up a sign that said “Lemonade!” I always stop at lemonade stands, as these are the entrepreneurs of tomorrow who need encouragement (and besides all that, I was thirsty.)
The beneficiary of this lemonade sale was their school. It was a home office operation, run out of their garage, with their supplier clearly evident (see Minute Maid carton at left.) I gave them my two quarters, but it was their smiles I was really wanting to buy…so innocent, so industrious, so determined to work together and still be able to ride their bikes. As I drove off the little girl shouted “Thank you so much for your purchase. Please come back soon!”
I wish I had gotten a closer look at the chart the older brother was holding. I am sure it might say something about
“This is how growing up should be.”
Blessings as you lead this week.
